Faithful means: - steadfast in affection or allegiance;
- loyal; adhering firmly to person or cause;
- reliable; worthy of trust; consistent with reality
- sure, something/someone you can depend on
By
this definition we can surely describe God as a Person who is
constantly loving and loyal to us, and won't suddenly take that love
away because of a mistake we made or because He loves all of His
children. His love is unconditional and everlasting. It transcends any
human understanding or expression of love and loyalty. God always
keeps His word, and you can always count on God.
God is
dependable, He is sure, He is reliable even though people are not. Even
though people are not trustworthy, even though people take their love
away, even though people are disloyal and betray us, even though people
will take their love and affection and give it to others, totally
disregarding the relationship they had with us romantically, even
though people are as inconsistent as the phases of the moon--God is
faithful. We need to thank Him for that.
"Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now.
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will
continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ
Jesus returns."
Philippians 1:4-6 New Living Translation God is so
faithful and consistent, He will tarry with us and be patient with us
in our walk with Him, despite our many mistakes and mishaps--God is
able to complete His transforming process in you, until Christ's return
(or until your time here on Earth is over).
"The temptations in your life are no different from what others
experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be
more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way
out so that you can endure."
1 Corinthians 10:13 - New Living Translation
The
Awesome God that we serve, He is eternally faithful. Even when satan,
the accuser of the brethren, stands before God and tries to place us in
scenarios that will pull us far from God, He does not allow it! He will
allow the enemy to hit us, but only with blows He knows we can endure,
and trust Him to bring us out of. We can trust God to keep us in the
storm. Life can be really hard for us, but thank God that He looks out
for us so despite what hardships we are enduring, we can still reach
out to him.
"Yet the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen [you] and set you on a firm foundation and guard you from the evil [one]."2 Thessalonians 3:3 - The Amplified BibleWe
can depend on God to strengthen us and stabilize us. Wow, sometimes life
can seem very unstable, but we can trust and depend on God to be Our Stabilizer! What a comfort that can be to us when our lives are in disarray! Moreover, while He is strengthening us through our life
experiences and stabilizing us through our storms, He is omnipotent, and
will also protect us from the enemy. Thank You God for your Blood and
keeping power.
"If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is
faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will
forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse
us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will
in purpose, thought, and action]."
1 John 1:9 - Amplified Bible
God's
faithfulness even transcends our sins! When we mess up we can go before
God and we can rely on the fact that He will forgive us! That's
amazing, because when we mess up before people, we can't be sure that
they will accept us or take us back. But God, Who is beyond human frailty, and Whose presence cannot tolerate or accept sin, will yet
accept us! Hallelujah! He is an awesome God who takes us back despite
our many wrongs!
What a faithful God!
In closing, I would like to leave you all with this:
"Know, recognize, and
understand therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful
God, Who keeps covenant and steadfast love and mercy with those who
love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations...."Deuteronomy 7:9 - Amplified Bible
What a Faithful, Awesome God we serve. Let us celebrate Him for His Goodness and His love.
